Battle Beanz Stat Engine

BATTLE BEANZ is a competitive, on-chain game experience that transforms characters from the @BEANZOfficial collection into personalized mech-like digital warriors. Each Battle Bean is uniquely crafted, mapping its visual and rarity-based characteristics into a strategic gameplay framework that defines combat capabilities. This white paper outlines the core logic, stat model, trait-to-stat mapping system, and the scaling mechanisms that form the foundation of the BATTLE BEANZ gameplay layer.

Core Stat Framework

Each BEANZ character is assigned a six-dimensional stat profile, representing fundamental gameplay traits. These attributes define performance in battle scenarios, player strategy, and match outcomes. The six core stats are:

AttributeAbbreviationDescription
PowerPOWOffensive strength and raw damage capability
AgilityAGIReflexes, dodge rate, and turn speed
DefenseDEFAbility to absorb or resist damage
IntelligenceINTTactical precision, ability effects, and special use
SpeedSPDMovement and action frequency
LuckLCKCritical chances and random event modifiers

Trait-to-Stat Mapping

Visual trait categories from the BEANZ metadata are directly mapped to one of the six core stats. This approach fuses aesthetic uniqueness with functional gameplay variance. The mapping logic draws from BEANZ lore, visual design, and gameplay relevance. Each trait contributes to its associated stat, as shown:

Trait CategoryStat Contributed
ClothingDefense (DEF)
EyebrowsAgility (AGI)
EyesAgility (AGI)
FaceIntelligence (INT)
HandPower (POW)
HeadgearDefense (DEF)
MouthIntelligence (INT)
OffhandPower (POW)
ShoeSpeed (SPD)
SpecialLuck (LCK)

Rarity-Based Scoring Model

Each trait is assigned a raw point score based on its rarity. Rarer traits contribute more heavily to a character's stat potential, incentivizing trait scarcity and collectible value.Rarity-to-Point Conversion:

Rarity (%)TierPoint Value
> 10%Common1
5% – 10%Uncommon2
1% – 5%Rare3
< 1%Epic5
None/MissingDefault1

Note: Missing traits receive a default score of 1 to ensure all BEANZ remain viable in gameplay and to preserve the minimalism of "clean" designs.

Worked Example: BEANZ #15928

To illustrate the full scoring system, we apply the framework to a real BEANZ character:

Trait CategoryTrait NameRarityPointsStat Contributed
ClothingRed Hoodie Up1%3Defense (DEF)
EyebrowsNone1Agility (AGI)
EyesHalf-open9%2Agility (AGI)
FaceNone1Intelligence (INT)
HandNone1Power (POW)
HeadgearSloth Beanie1%3Defense (DEF)
MouthNom6%2Intelligence (INT)
OffhandNone1Power (POW)
ShoeNone1Speed (SPD)
SpecialNone1Luck (LCK)

Raw Stat Totals:

StatTrait SourcesRaw Total
Power (POW)Hand (1), Offhand (1)2
Agility (AGI)Eyebrows (1), Eyes (2)3
Defense (DEF)Clothing (3), Headgear (3)6
Intelligence (INT)Face (1), Mouth (2)3
Speed (SPD)Shoe (1)1
Luck (LCK)Special (1)1

Stat Scaling: 10x Multiplier

To create a familiar and engaging numerical range for players, all raw stat values are scaled by a factor of 10. This adjustment translates each stat into a 0–100 system, which improves clarity, comparison, and UX/UI consistency across digital platforms.

StatRaw ScoreScaled Score
Power (POW)220
Agility (AGI)330
Defense (DEF)660
Intelligence (INT)330
Speed (SPD)110
Luck (LCK)110

Conclusion

The BATTLE BEANZ Stat Engine offers a balanced and expressive system with the following benefits:- Logical Mapping: Trait categories are mapped to stats based on thematic coherence and game relevance.- Rarity-Weighted Scoring: Encourages diversity in builds and increases value of rarer assets.- Game-Ready Scaling: 0–100 range is intuitive for players and clean for UI design.BATTLE BEANZ transforms collectible avatars into gameplay-ready, stat-driven combatants. By leveraging a rarity-based scoring model and intuitive trait-to-stat mapping, the system enables deep strategic variation, collection-based optimization, and meaningful trait-based identity for each BEANZ warrior. This white paper serves as the foundational reference for developers, designers, and community members contributing to the BATTLE BEANZ metagame and its on-chain infrastructure.

Tanko's Diary (Private!)

Entry #001Bruh...My head feels like someone stuck it in a pachinko machine and kicked it down the alley.Ended up sharing a bottle (or three) of sake with this guy named Bobu last night. Real character. Long hair, voice like a busted bass amp. The kind that talks in riddles unless you hand him a drink. So, naturally, I did.We sat up on the roof of Taki’s ramen stand. Cold wind. Empty streets. Neon buzzin’. Perfect spot for storytelling.Dude swears he used to be a bean farmer. Said he raised the best crimson sprinters in Hilumia. Talked about soil like it was family. Kept going on about “soul-fed sprouts” and “moonlight crop rotation”, whatever that means. I nodded. I mean, respect to the earth and all, but the guy’s hands didn’t scream “manual labor,” y’know? Then things went full anime.Says after the farming gig he became an astronaut! An astronaut.
This guy.
In space!
Claimed he piloted something called SpaceX, charted unknown systems, harvested star energy to feed his crops (??). Said he crash-landed on a moon made of tofu. TOFU. At that point I started wondering what was really in the sake.Anyway, he passed out mid-story, still holding the bottle. Dude snored like a vending machine mid refund.Woke up with my hoodie smelling like burnt soy and bad decisions. Not my best look. But hey - was kinda fun. And I didn’t have anywhere else to be.Yet.– T

Entry #002Yo!Not gonna lie - today was mad.
Like... Not mad bad, but mad good!
Finally got picked up.
Been floatin’ around the Alley for a while now - dodgin’ noodle carts, couch surfin’ behind the neon boards, tryna keep warm near busted fuse boxes. But guess what?!
Got myself an Azuki. Not just any Azuki either - the guy that runs that crusty old video game shop by Level Nine Imports. Place looks like it’s been stuck in a save state since like… 1993? Dusty ass shelves, faded posters, stacks of game carts older than me (probably haunted too, ngl).He needed an assistant.
I needed a home.
Match made in heaven.
Now I get to spend my days sweeping up pixel guts, restocking turbo gum, and - get this - helping build actual arcade cabs! Like, real stuff. Hardware. Wood. Wires. Paint fumes in my nose holes. It rules!Big guy's quiet, barely says ten words a day, but he's got the steadiest hands I’ve ever seen. Today we rewired a busted Beanball Royale machine and swapped out the CRT for a holo-panel. Looked crisp enough to eat!He even cleared out the back room for me. Threw in a mini futon, a lil' light, even let me pick a poster for the wall (went with FireBlade II, duh). Not saying I’m settled, but... I ain’t just wandering anymore.Feels good.
Like I got purpose now.
Plus I get to tinker with old tech, listen to metal, and crash under a real roof.
Not bad for a pinto bean, huh?– T
